I’m so excited today starts the first day of summer. I love the fact that my kids are home and we don’t have a schedule we need to keep. Well until band camp starts that is. Today we plan to kick off our summer like we do every year, ice cream for lunch. That will be the first thing off our Summer Bucket List .
When the kids come home after school on the last day, I like to have a welcome to summer gift waiting for them. My plan is to have things that will keep them busy along with some snacks. I’m hoping to spark their creativeness with the Lego’s and the sidewalk paint. I also thought it would be neat to keep this wreak it journal in the car, this will be fun to do a page together on our outings. Then at the end of summer we can take a look back and remember all the fun we had together.
Our family loves to take spontaneous road trips, its a great way to explore our state and to make family memories. To help keep the kids from being hooked on their electronics while we are on a road trip, I came up with road trip binders.
I use binder dividers to make sections, the first section is to journal about their road trips. The next section is for mazes, I found some really good mazes at http://www.fun-stuff-to-do.com/medium-mazes.html, there is a variety of mazes for all ages. https://www.tripsavvy.com/travel-games-for-family-road-trips-3265630#step8 has many printable travel games that I used in our binders. I love using http://www.momsminivan.com/printables.html she has many great ideas over there.
