Easy to make Movie Treat Bags
Do you have a movie night that your hosting and need a treat bag to go along with the movie? I’ll show you how to make these cute bags step by step.
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram then you saw that I made cute Elf movie treat bags for my kids last weekend. After I posted the picture of the treat bags a friend asked how I did these. Her daughter had invited friends over (my daughter was one of them) for a Christmas movie night. They were watching Elf so this would be the perfect treat bag to go along with the movie.
Let’s get started
With my daughters help we cut 1-inch strips of yellow paper for the belt.
As we went we cut each yellow strip of paper to fit both sides of the bags.
Mounting squares were used on the back of the yellow paper so it would stick to the bag.
With my Cricut, I cut out square silhouettes to use for the belt buckle. Then I placed the square into my sticker maker so they would stick on the bag. This was easier to do then using mounting squares or glue.
I found these embellishments at Micheals to use for buttons. The embellishments already had adhesive on the back of them.
Filling the bags
We filled the bottom of the bags with green tissue paper. I did this because I wanted what was in the bags to stick out some.
At the party, the girls are having a hot cocoa bar. I couldn’t find those marshmallows stirrer sticks I had for my kids but was able to find these peppermint sticks. The peppermint sticks weren’t individually wrapped so we placed one peppermint stick into a pretzel bag.
With the help of the other mom, the treat bags were filled with a ton of candy, hot cocoa mix, and the peppermint stirrers. For the final touch since these are for teenage girls and they love taking selfies. I found these adorable photo props at Dollar Tree.
I can’t wait to see how the girls like their treat bags.
