I've been seeing these Monster cookies all over Pinterest so I thought I would give them a try and here is what I came up with.
A Monster Cookie that is packed with peanut butter, oatmeal, lots of chocolate chips, not to mention peanut butter chips, and those cute little M&M baking bits.
These cookies are not only big in size but also big in taste.
What You Need To Make Monster Cookies
- butter~ at room temperature
- brown sugar
- creamy peanut butter
- vanilla extract
- baking soda
- baking powder
- quick oats
- peanut butter morsels
- chocolate morsels
- mini chocolate morsels
In a large bowl or your stand mixer bowl add the softened butter and brown sugar cream together until they are completely combined.
Using softened butter when baking cookies helps to cream the butter with the sugar better. Plus it helps to hold the shape of the cookies better. Using melted butter will make the cookies more flatter.
Next, add the baking soda, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Mix until these are combined.
Add the eggs one at a time and mix until combined.
Whenever using eggs I like to crack them into a small bowl before adding to the recipe I'm making. This way it will be easier to get an egg shell out if it ends up in with the egg.
I also like to crack my eggs on a flat surface to help with minimizing the egg shell breakage.
Slowly add the flour into the batter. I like to add a little at a time and get that all incorporated before I add more.
Sifting flour before adding it into my batter has also been a habit of mine for some time. Sifting the flour makes the flour a little airy making the cookies a little fluffer as well.
Next, you mix in the quick oats. You can use your mixer if you like. Or you can mix the quick outs by hand.
Since the batter gets thick, I find that mixing by hand a little does help to make sure all is mixed together.
Adding The Candies
When I had all the oats are combined I then added all the goodies that make these Monster Cookies. The more goodies into these cookies the better.
I like to add chocolate morsels, peanut butter morsels, mini chocolate morsels, and M&M's.
Toffee bites would be another great ingredient to add to these Monster Cookies.
Whenever I make cookies, I always use an ice cream scoop, I feel that a 1-inch ice cream scooper makes the perfect size cookie. Plus using a cookie scoop makes each cookie the same size.
As the cookies bake they will flatten out some on their own.
They need to bake in a 350℉ oven for 13-20 minutes, depending on your oven and the size of your cookies.

These Monster Cookies are a delicious afternoon snack that goes perfectly with a glass of milk. Add these into the kid's lunch for a special snack. These cookies are sure to be a hit with your family.
