How does a nice sloppy joe sound piled high on a kaiser bun? I say get ready for a quick and easy recipe that is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
With our house being newly built last year we had no yard. So last summer we decided that we would put underground sprinklers in before we planted any grass.
To help cut cost we asked for help from some of our wonderful neighbor friends.
They willingly helped us so I was more than happy to feed them. I made this sloppy Joes recipe I'm about to share with you and my potato salad recipe.
I had many compliments on both and even was asked for my recipes, well here you go, my sweet friend.
Depending on how many people you are feeding this recipe will vary, this amount is what I would make for our family.
How To Make The Best Homemade Sloppy Joes
Let's get started with 3 pounds of ground beef, to make this a little healthier ground turkey could be substituted for all or part of the meat.
I fried up the ground beef making sure to season with seasoning salt and black pepper. While the meat was browning I also added half of a medium onion that was chopped.
With the meat being fully cooked I drained off all the extra drippings into a can.
Placing the frying pan back on the stove (waiting to turn back on) I added 2 cups ketchup, about 2 teaspoons yellow mustard, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce and ⅓ cup brown sugar.
Mixing the ingredients together I turned my stove burned on medium to make sure everything was warm. With the sloppy Joes is warm serve on a Kaiser Bun. Such a great go-to recipe for busy nights.
