Cookies are always a big hit in my house just like Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. So I thought why not combine both of our favorites.
Having tried other Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookie recipes before but never really finding one that I liked.
Just about all the recipes I tried all tasted dry to me. Giving this some thought as to why they were dry I came up with the recipes were using baking cocoa, why not try some type of melted chocolate.
I have a really good Chocolate chip recipe so I thought I could play around with that recipe to make a chocolate peanut butter chip cookies.
How To Melt Chocolate
To be honest with you I have never had much luck, I forget about it or overheat the chocolate. We all know that if the chocolate gets overheated there is no coming back from that.
That’s why I thought doing a double boiler would work best for me.
Easy Cookie Dough Recipe
Starting the recipe like I normally do. I adding room temperature butter into my kitchen aid mixer along with brown sugar, and white sugar.
Taking the melted dark chips I added it to the mixture. Since the chocolate is warm I thought it would be best to add this in before the eggs. Getting all the ingredients mixed together I added the eggs and vanilla.
Turning the mixer to medium speed to combine all ingredients.
In a separate bowl, I sifted flour, baking soda, and salt together. Turning my mixer to low I slowly started to add the flour mixer into the batter until it was all added.
With all the ingredients mixed together, I removed the mixing bowl. Using a rubber spatula to scrape the inside of the bowl first then to mix in the peanut butter chips.
To make the perfect shaped cookies every time I use a 2-ounce ice cream scoop. You can use whatever you prefer, but the baking time and amount of cookies will vary.
Placing the cookie dough onto a prepared cookie sheet then into a 375℉ oven for 17-19 minutes; or until done.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies
Soft Chewy Chocolate cookies with Reese Peanut Butter Chips
- 1 Cup Butter Room Temperature
- 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar Firmly Packed
- 3/4 Cup Sugar
- 2 Cups Dark Chocolate Morsels Melted
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 Eggs
- 3 Cups Flour Sifted
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda Sifted
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 2 Cups Peanut Butter Chips 10 Oz Bag
Preheat oven to 375℉
In a double boiler melt chocolate chip
In a mixing Bowl add room temperature butter, brown sugar and sugar. Mix with mixer until sugar is combined into the butter.
Once the Sugars are combined into the butter add the melted chocolate
When the melted chocolate is incorporated into the butter mixture add the vanilla extract and eggs. Mixing until eggs are completely mixed in.
In a separate bowl sift flour, Baking Soda, and salt.
Slowly add the flour mixture into the chocolate batter until all the flour is added.
With a rubber spatula add peanut butter chips
Scoop cookie dough out onto a prepared cookie sheet.
Bake in a 375℉ oven for 17-19 minutes or until done
I use my ice cream scoop when I make cookies, this makes each scoop of cookie dough 2 tablespoons. If you don’t use an ice cream scoop baking time may vary.
