I'm a total chocolate lover. This chocolate candy is my go-to when I want to satisfy that sweet tooth of mine.
What better way to get my chocolate candy fix than make my own candy in the slow cooker. These crockpot peanut clusters are a quick and easy recipe.

How To Make Peanut Clusters
Lately, I have rekindled my love for the crockpot. This simple kitchen gadget makes mealtime easier. Being able to put dinner on to cook in the morning.
Then by dinner time the house is filled with delicious smells of dinner makes life a little easier.
It's also great for whipping up desserts like our Molten Chocolate Lava Cake. Another great treat idea that can be made in the crockpot is these peanut clusters.
These candies are easy to make all you need is a crockpot, white almond bark, german baking chocolate, chocolate chips, and salted peanuts.
Because these are broken up this will help them melt better.
Dump the chocolate chips and the peanuts into the crockpot. Set the slow cooker to low for an hour.
Don't worry about mixing the ingredients together, that will happen later.
My slow cooker only has a couple of settings so I just set a timer to remind me of the hour.
When the hour was up I stirred together all the ingredients until they were all combined. Next using the 1-inch scoop I use for cookies.
I scooped out the crockpot peanut clusters onto wax paper that is on a sheet pan.
Placing the sheet pan in the freezer for 10 minutes allows them to set up faster. However, they will also set up in the fridge or on the counter. These options will take longer.
I recommend placing them in the freezer for a bit. Let them sit at room temperature a bit before enjoying them.
At Christmas time I was having a hard time finding the almond bark. I was able to find candy melts in replacement of the almond bark.
I used a German chocolate baking bar because I really love the rich flavor of German chocolate.
However, you could always substitute semi-sweet baking chocolate for the German chocolate.
Milk chocolate chips would be a good substitution for the semi-sweet chips I used in this recipe. You could even use white chocolate chips or maybe butterscotch chips.
Adding more peanuts to the recipe. Changing the peanut to almonds, macadamia nuts, or pecans would also be good.
These would make it more of a crockpot nut cluster than a crockpot peanut cluster. If you or your loved one is allergic to nuts you can substitute pretzels for the peanuts.
To make these candies have a peanut butter flavor to them. You could add a half cup of peanut butter into the crock to melt with the chocolate.
After one hour of melting time. Mixing in mini marshmallows will bring a new texture and flavor to the candies.
The first tip I have for this recipe would be. Use a cookie sheet that is lined with wax paper to scoop your candies onto. This helps if you plan to move them into the fridge or freezer.
Plus using wax paper is the key to not having these candies stick to your surface. Making for easier cleanup, and you know I'm all about easy cleanup.
I'm all about making my baked goods as uniform in size as I can so I always use baking scoops. For this recipe, I used my 1-inch scoop so we ended up with larger clusters.
A smaller scoop would stretch this recipe out more. Since I used a 1-inch scoop I was only able to get 17 clusters out of the recipe. If you use a smaller scoop you will be able to get more.
These chocolate candies can be frozen for 5-6 months in an airtight container.

Crockpot Peanut Clusters
Sweet and salty candies that are made in the crockpot.
- 1 Pound White Almond Bark broke into chunks
- 2 Ounces German Baking Chocolate broke into chunks
- 1 Cup Semi Sweeet Chocolate Chips
- 2 Cups Salted Peanuts
Into the slow cooker place the almond bark chunk, the German baking chocolate chunks, the semi-sweet chocolate chips, and salted peanuts. Do not stir.
Place lid on the crock pot set to low for 1 hour.
After the hour, stir together the melted chocolates and peanuts.
Scoop the clusters onto a cookie sheet that has been lined with wax paper. Use a spoon or baking scoop to scoop the cluster mixture out of the crockpot onto the wax paper. I used a 1-inch baking scoop to get 17 clusters. Smaller scoops will give you more clusters.
Let set up in the freezer for 10 minutes then allow to sit at room temperature for a few before enjoying. The candies can set up at room temperature or in the fridge but the set up time will be longer.
