How To Make Beef Ramen Noodles In One Pot
I love one-pot recipes and this one is at the top of my favorites to make. My preferred skillet that I use for one-pot recipes is always my cast iron skillet. Of course, any large skillet will work for this recipe.
To make beef ramen noodles we need to first start with the beef its self. I like to use flank steak. Flank steak is a lean type of meat and once was a cheaper cut to purchase.
Like most cuts of meat the price of flank steak has increased over the years. You can replace the flank steak with sirloin or even ground beef.
I have made this recipe with ground beef before, my family does prefer the flank steak. But if you are looking for an easy ground beef recipe then this would be a great one.
I find cutting the flank steak into thinner strips will help the beef to cook faster. Heat up olive oil in a large skillet. Add the flank steak strips to the heated skilled then season the meat.
Cooking the meat until there is no pink left. This will take about 6 minutes or so depending on how thin the steak is cut.
While the steak is cooking I like to mix the seasoning packets from the ramen noodles into the water. Another way to bring more flavor to this recipe is by replacing the water with beef broth.
I find doing this helps to break the seasoning down easier. The seasoning packets mix better with just the water. This is also the perfect time to mix in the Worcestershire sauce.
With the flank steak, all cooked it's time to add the frozen vegetables, ramen noodles, and ground ginger. This will need to come to a boil then reduce heat and simmer until the vegetables and noodles are tender.
Careful not to overcook the noodles or they will become mush.
The sauce will be thinner however if you want a thicker sauce for your beef ramen noodles. You could make a corn starch slurry to thicken the sauce.
One way to make beef ramen healthier would be to replace the seasoning packets with your own homemade sauce. Adding more veggies to the recipe would be another way.
Green onions, sesame seeds, or a splash of sriracha sauce would complete this recipe. Change out the flank steak for ground beef, add in some match stick carrots or snap peas for added color. Bring in more flavor with some diced onion and mince garlic.
The easiest way to reheat this recipe would be in the microwave. I do recommend keeping the lid on the container and not overheating the noodles. The noodles can become dried out if overheated.
