This come gather sign was inspired when I was out shopping the other day. I saw a sign with this phrase, Come Gather at our table. What a beautiful phrase but I wasn't totally in love with the look of the sign.

Looking closer at the sign I knew I could make my own. First was finding the right board, next I would need stickers. You heard me right I used stickers in this project.
For me cursive writing is appealing, and I was able to find the perfect ones. In order to accomplish this board the way I was envisioning it, I would need two different sizes of stickers.
Larger letters for the come gather and smaller ones for the at our table. When I find time I love to craft, making wreaths or doing sewing projects. This project was fun and simple to do with little material.
Getting started
Off to my makeshift craft room in the basement to see what I could come up with. Using a dry paper towel, I wiped the board clean.
I then decided where I wanted my words to go on the board. In order to get the words straight, I used a piece of paper to lay on the board.
I realized that I don't have all my crafting needs (a ruler) in my makeshift craft room, nor am I organized. This will be another project that I will need to accomplish soon.
Anyway, I laid the stickers all out where I wanted them, since the letters are in cursive I overlapped them some to make it look like it was written on the board.
After I got the stickers where I wanted them to be, I used Americana Decor Creme Wax in a deep brown to cover the board. I didn't want it very dark so one coat is all I needed. Don't forget to stand the ends of the board to match the front.
All Finished
Once the wax was dry I was able to peel the stickers off. I'm very happy with the way it tuned out, the wax wasn't dark and I loved how the cursive writing came out.
I have had quite a few comments on my sign. I thought it was very fitting to put this sign in our dining area under our Last Supper Picture.
This sign has been fun to incorporate in my everyday decor but it also great in Thanksgiving decor.
