Sriracha dipping sauce is a great homemade dipping sauce that goes perfectly with French Fries, sweet potatoes, chicken wings, or chicken nuggets. Whip this creamy sauce up in minutes with simple ingredients. Such as mayo, ketchup, sriracha sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and red pepper flakes. Not only is this a good sauce for dipping but it also makes for a great sandwich spread.

There have been many meals lately that I watch my girls use ranch or mayo for dipping what we are eating in. I'm talking pizza, fries, chicken fingers, chicken nuggets of course, and the list goes on.

As I watched them dipping away at another meal, I got thinking about making a homemade sauce that goes perfectly with French fries or chicken tenders. Sometimes I like a little spicy heat to things so I decided that sriracha sauce was going to be a key player in this spicy dip recipe.

Now I like a little spicy heat but not a lot, this recipe can be changed up a bit to customize it to your liking. This tasty sauce can easily be made into a bit of a sweeter sauce by adding in honey or maple syrup.

When I first whipped this spicy mayo recipe up the intention was to have it with fries. But we have found that it also goes really well with chicken nuggets, sweet potato fries, as well as sushi rolls. It also makes for a great sandwich spread.

Sriracha Dipping Sauce Recipe

This is a spicy sauce recipe that is quick to make but is packed with the perfect balance of flavors. In a large bowl add mayo, ketchup, sriracha sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and for more spice red pepper flakes.

A glass bowl that has mayo, ketchup, sriracha, and seasonings in it.

Mix all the ingredients together until all are combined. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

I do recommend giving it a good stir before using it each time just to combine any ingredients that may have separated from each other.

How Can I Make It Less Spicy?

One of my girls doesn't like spiciness to any of her food. If we are using pepper jack cheese for tacos she will grab the mild cheddar for hers.

So I have altered this dipping sauce for her a bit by making it a honey srirach sauce. Or by making it less spicy, by leaving out the pepper flakes, or scaling back on the amount. Another way would be to scale back on the Sriracha sauce itself.

A plate full of French fries with a small dish that has the dipping sauce in it.

Since she doesn't like any spice her favorite way to have it is without the sriracha or red pepper flakes.

I feel it's the combination of the mayo, ketchup, and sriracha sauce that makes this the best sauce. I find myself whipping this recipe up all the time to have with fries.

Tips

Some tips for changes to this easy recipe would be to start with the mayo itself. We like the creaminess that mayo brings to this recipe. However, if you like the tanginess that Miracle Whip has then this would be a great substitution.

Greek yogurt, sour cream, or even light mayo will also work. This creamy sriracha sauce can easily be made with vegan mayo for dietary preference.

The Sriracha is another way to change the flavor of this recipe. I used a mild sriracha sauce. Sriracha Sauce comes in hot as well as blended with different flavors. Any type of hot sauce or even chili sauce will work in this tasty sauce.

At the grocery store, you can find ones that are sriracha with garlic, onion, sour sriracha, and even one with ginger. You could also add more sriracha sauce into the recipe than I did for more spice. I did feel that with the sriracha sauce and red pepper flakes it had a nice spiciness to it. Make it a sweet sriracha by adding in sugar or honey and leaving out the pepper flakes.

The next change would be with the spices. I have been using a Himalayan Pink salt because it's lower in sodium than table salt.

This could be replaced with garlic powder or onion salt or even garlic or onion powder. Change out the red pepper flakes for black pepper, red pepper or even paprika. The changes with spices I feel could be endless.

The Worcestershire sauce helps to balance the other ingredients out with its tangy, sweet, savory, and salty flavor. Mix in some green onions for a bit of mild fresh onion flavor.

This spicy srirach sauce would go perfectly smothered on our Sub Sandwich recipe as well as many other sandwiches. This sriracha mayo recipe also makes for a great dip for fresh veggies.
