This easy to mix up boozy frozen drinkrecipe is perfect for the summer. Mix up this adult milkshake to enjoy while relaxing around the pool. Not a strawberry fan then you will absolutely love our original frozen mudslide recipe.
Frozen strawberry mudslide is just like our original frozen mudslide recipe with a couple of twists to it. Strawberry ice cream is the star of this frozen drink. The ice cream helps to bring in more strawberry flavor other than the Bailey's strawberries and cream we use.
The ice cream is blended with Bailey's strawberries and cream liquor and Kahlua making it a creamy yet boozy adult drink.
How To Make
Making this adult frozen strawberry cocktail is simple to do and doesn't require many ingredients. Into a blender, I love using my Ninja blender it makes mixing up milkshakes quick but any blender will do. Add in the strawberry ice cream, Kahlua, and Bailey's strawberries and cream. Blend everything together until the ice cream is smooth.
Pour into a tall drinking glass. For garnishing the glass, I have coated the inside of the glass with chocolate syrup before adding the finished drink recipe. But what I really like doing is dipping the glass rim into melted chocolate. Neither of these is necessary just makes for a nicely garnished cocktail in the end.
Once the strawberry mudslide is poured into the glass top it with whipped topping and drizzle a bit of chocolate syrup on top. Grab a straw and enjoy.
The strawberry ice cream could easily be changed out for vanilla ice cream. If using vanilla ice cream you may want to add a couple of fresh strawberries into the blender for that strawberry flavor.
The original Bailey's Irish cream could be used in replacement of the strawberries and cream Bailey's. I love the combination of the strawberry ice cream and the Bailey's strawberries and cream.
Facts
From what I have read the frozen mudslide got its start in the 1950s at a bar on Grand Cayman Island. Visitors to the island enjoyed the frozen mudslide so much that they took the recipe back home with them. Even though the drink got its start in the 1950s it didn't get popular until the 1980s.
A traditional mudslide cocktail calls for vodka whereas our frozen strawberry mudslide is only made with the coffee liquor Kahlua and Bailey's strawberries and creamy Irish cream liquor. If you enjoy vodka a splash into this frozen strawberry mudslide wouldn't hurt any.
The strawberry ice cream is what makes this a frozen mudslide also known as an adult milkshake. This frozen cocktail recipe is perfect for when you want a creamy and sweet drink that has a bit of booze to it.
Enjoy this simple to make frozen strawberry mudslide on a hot summer's day while relaxing in the shade. Or mix one up for a special someone to enjoy together on Valentine's Day.
