At the heart of this easy parfait recipe lies Greek yogurt, which is high in protein and low in fat. Since it's packed with probiotics, it supports a healthy gut and aids in digestion.

The smooth texture and tangy flavor of Greek yogurt provides the perfect base for layering your favorite fruit on.

Speaking of fruits, this parfait is the canvas for nature's vibrant colors and flavors. Whether it's luscious berries bursting with antioxidants, succulent slices of tropical mango, or the sweet tang of citrus fruit, the possibilities are endless.

Adding any of these types of fruits not only adds natural sweetness but also will bring an abundance of vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. Which is a great way to start the day off.

Then complete the symphony of deliciousness with your favorite granola for added crunch. Indulge in a healthy Greek yogurt parfait to kickstart your day with a burst of flavor and nourishment.

Greek Yogurt Parfait Ingredients And Substitutions

Let's talk about the ingredients needed for this easy yogurt parfait and what substations there are.

Greek yogurt is the star of this parfait, I used plain Greek yogurt but any type of yogurt will work. Try vanilla Greek yogurt, a non-fat Greek yogurt, regular yogurt, or a flavored type of yogurt.

Non-dairy yogurt options such as coconut yogurt, almond yogurt, or soy yogurt will also work.

Honey is added to the yogurt as a natural sweetener which is optional. The honey can be replaced with maple syrup or agave nectar.

Fresh fruit is layered on top of the creamy yogurt. This is where you can really get creative. Select your favorite type of fresh berries or fruit for this layer. I like blueberries but fresh strawberries and raspberries are also amazing in this parfait.

Try slices of bananas, diced mango, pitted cherries, or even chunks of pineapple. The possibilities are endless when it comes to adding fresh fruit to this parfait recipe.

The granola layer brings an added crunch to the parfait. You can use your favorite granola or homemade granola. Swap the crunchy granola out with walnuts or almonds.

Chia seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, or sunflower seeds would be great nut alternatives for those that have nut allergies.

Some add-ins that the kids may like would be coconut flakes, chocolate chips, dried fruit, or even a dollop of peanut butter or almond butter.

You can enhance the overall flavoring of this healthy Greek yogurt parfait by adding in some spices. Cinnamon or nutmeg would be great spices to choose from or add a splash of vanilla extract in.

These substations and variations allow you to tailor this healthy Greek yogurt parfait recipe to your personal preference and dietary needs.

How To Make

Making a healthy Greek yogurt parfait is a simple recipe to make. In a small mixing bowl add in the ¾ cup of yogurt add a drizzle of honey and mix until combined.

Into a parfait glass, mason jar, or bowl add a layer of the sweetened yogurt. Add a layer of fresh fruit such as blueberries or strawberries. Top the healthy fruit with a layer of granola.

Repeat with another layer or two of the yogurt then the berries, and finish with a sprinkle of granola on top of the parfait.

Healthy yogurt parfaits are a perfect way to start the day and can easily be a make-ahead breakfast. I would leave the granola out of the layers because it will become soggy. Simply add the granola when you are ready to enjoy this grab-n-go-breakfast.

If making these breakfast parfaits ahead you will want to store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Depending on the fruit used in the parfait it may release moisture over time. Which can affect the overall texture of the parfait.
