How To Cook Baked Potatoes In The Instant Pot
I might have a little addiction problem with my Instanhttps://amzn.to/3cjg7oPt Pot. I love exploring new meals or sides to make in it. Making baked potatoes has become my next favorite thing to make in my Instant Pot. That is, next to making hard-boiled eggs in it.
I have always loved baked potatoes but making them in the oven always seemed to take so long. Now depending on the size of potatoes they only take 20 or 30 minutes in the Instant Pot.
Steps to Fork Tender Potatoes
Making potatoes in the Instant Pot is simple baked potatoes that come out tender and fluffy. Most of the time depending on the recipe my first step when using my Instant Pot.
Is to make sure that I have my inner pot in and add the amount of liquid that I will need. For the potatoes, you will need 1 cup of water.
My second step for this recipe is to clean the potatoes. Then take a fork and poke holes in the potatoes.
Doing this will help when the potato bakes. The stem in the potato has somewhere to release from, making it much less likely to burst open.
My next step would be adding the steamer rack into the inner pot as well as the potatoes. While the potatoes are in the inner pot I will salt and pepper them lightly.
How Long To Cook The Potatoes For
The final step is to place the lid on your Instant Pot and press the manual button and set the timer to 20 minutes.
Now my potatoes were a medium size so it only took me 20 minutes but if they are on the larger size they will take 30 minutes some might take longer. Once the pressure is built up inside the Instant Pot the timer will begin the countdown.
Tips For Using The Instant Pot
When the timer is done counting down set the release value to quick release. Please be very careful when doing so, the steam coming out can burn.
I don't know how many times I have told my kids this. This is the only worry I have with letting my kids use my IP.
Whenever I use the quick release I make sure it's pointing away from any cupboards or my pendant lights. You could always put a dish towel over the release value. I have done this when I have made soups.
Once the steam has been all released remove the potatoes from the Instant Pot and serve with your favorite meal. We like to have baked potatoes with meatloaf.
You can top them with all your favorite toppings or eat them plan. However, you like to have them you now can have them much quicker by cooking them in the Instant Pot.
