Peanut butter blondies stacked on top of each other.

Our peanut butter blondie recipe is a dense chewy dessert bar that is rich in peanut butter flavor. Topped with chopped peanuts and peanut butter chips for added peanut butter flavor.

Can you ever have too much peanut butter packed into one bite-size dessert bar? Being a peanut butter lover I would have to say no way. These dessert bars are rich in peanut butter flavor and simple to make.

How To Make Peanut Butter Blondies From Scratch

One of my all-time favorite dessert bar recipes is blondie brownies. I love that they are like a cookie but yet bake up like a brownie. Just when I thought these soft-chewy bites of goodness couldn't get any better. I thought about peanut butter and created this simple recipe.

The first thing you will want to do is preheat your oven to 350℉ and spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray. I did use a glass baking dish, if you use metal the baking time may vary.

Whenever I do any baking I always make sure that I sift my flour. I am sure glad I did that this time because my flour had bugs in it. Flour beetles will feed on the broken-down grain. They usually catch a ride to your home in the packages from the warehouses or from the grocery store.

Google does say that it's safe to eat flour that has had flour beetles in it, as long as the baked goods have been heated up or frozen. As for me, I prefer to cut my loss of flour and start over.

With a fine-mesh sifter, I will sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together into a smaller mixing bowl. Sifting the flour will also break up any lumps there might be in the flour.

Flour that is sifted into a glass bowl.

I do measure the flour out before I sift it. Once the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt are sifted I set this aside and start working on the butter mixture.

Mixing The Batter

Moving on to creaming the butter and brown sugar together. In a large mixing bowl add room temperature butter and firmly packed brown sugar.

Having firmly packed brown sugar means when you measure the brown sugar into the measuring cup you press it down. Doing this will help press down any air pockets that might be trapped between sugar granules.

In a large bowl cream together the room temperature butter and firmly packed brown sugar. Do this until the brown sugar dissolves into the butter. Add in the vanilla extract.

With the butter and sugar creamed together go ahead and add the peanut butter. I like to use crunchy peanut butter however creamy will work as well.

Creamed butter and sugar with flour being added into it.

With the peanut butter added it's time for the eggs. Add one egg at a time into the batter making sure the egg is completely mixed before adding the second egg.

Now it's time to mix in the sifted flour. I like to add a little flour at a time and get that incorporated before adding more of the flour. That way I don't get a flour bath.

Baking Time

Once all the ingredients are mixed together spread the batter evenly out into a 9x13 prepared baking dish. I used a glass baking dish that I sprayed with cooking spray. If using a metal baking time may vary.

Sprinkle on top of the batter the chopped peanuts and peanut butter morsels. These peanut butter blondies will need to be bake for 30-40 minutes in a preheat 350℉ oven or until done. You can do the toothpick test to see if the center is done.

You may want to press the peanuts and peanut butter morsels down a bit into the batter. I didn't do this the last time I made them so some of the goodies fell off when while eating.

Answering Questions
How do I know if my blondies are cooked?

They will start to pull away from the sides of the baking dish and be a light brown color. You could also insert a toothpick in the middle of the blondies and if it comes out clean then they are done.

Why do my blondies sink in the middle?

When you bet the eggs and butter together you incorporate air into the mixture. If there is too much air for the amount of flour used then the blondies will over-expand causing them to sink.

What is the difference between a brownie and a blondie?

That would be the chocolate. Blondies are made with brown sugar and no chocolate. Whereas brownies are made with white sugar and chocolate.

Once the peanut butter blondies are cooled completely cut into 12 bars and enjoy. My Creative Manner is answering the question "what's there to eat" with simple recipe creatiuons~ Jen
