French Garlic Cheese Toast

Turn a French Baguette into a delicious garlic cheese toast in no time.

Ingredients

French loaf made in a bread maker

  • 1 1/2 Cups Water 80-90℉
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Salt
  • 4 Cups Bread Flour
  • 2 1/2 Teaspoons Yeast

Garlic Toast

  • Butter Enough to cover each slice
  • Garlic Powder Sprinkle on each slice
  • Mozzarella Cheese As much as you like on each slice

Instructions

French loaf made in a bread maker

  1. Place all ingredients as listed in the bread maker.

  2. Set the bread maker for French/Italian. Set your bread size for a 2-pound loaf.

  3. Press start to mix and knead the dough. Remove before the bread maker starts to bake.

  4. On a floured surface roll dough out with a rolling pin into a rectangle shape.  

  5. Gently roll the dough up into a log form starting at one of the longer rectangle sides.

  6. Pinch the end of the dough into the loaf. Place seam side down onto a prepared cookie sheet 

  7. Cover with a towel and let rise for 30 minutes.

  8. Bake in a 400℉ oven for 20 minutes or until done.

Garlic Toast

  1. Slice your French Loaf into 1-inch slices using a bread knife

  2. Place slices on a cookie sheet 

  3. Spread butter on each slice of bread

  4. Sprinkle a little bit of garlic powder on each slice of bread

  5. Add as much mozzarella cheese on each slice as you like 

  6. Place into a preheated 350℉ oven for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted
