Steamed Broccoli is a quick, easy, and healthy side dish recipe that can be ready in minutes.
Cut the fresh broccoli into 1-inch florrets.
Add water into a saucepan and bring to a boil.
The amount of water may vary depending on the size of the saucepan and the type of steamer basket. Make sure the steamer basket isn't sitting in the water.
With the water at a full boil add the broccoli into the steamer basket. Continue with the water boiling and place the lid on the saucepan.
Steam for 4-6 minutes depending on how crunchy or non-crunchy you like broccoli.
Season with your choice of seasoning and serve.
The amount of water will vary depending on the type of steamer basket you use as well as the size of the saucepan. My saucepan with a steamer insert works best with 4 cups of water. One inch of water may be all you will need.
If you are using less water than I did you may want to watch to make sure the water doesn't evaporate.
