
Apple pear butter in the crockpot is a delicious sauce. Top pancake, toast, pork chops, or chicken with this apple pear butter.
Peel the apples and pear. Cut into smaller chunks discarding the cores.
Add the apples, pears, packed dark brown sugar, and salt into the crock-pot.
Mix the ingredients together, place the cinnamon stick on top of the mixture.
Place the lid on the crock-pot and cook on high for 4 hours.
After the first four hours, remove the lid and cinnamon stick. Keep the cinnamon stick for later.
If using an immersion blender, blend the ingredients until smooth. I did this right in the crock-pot.
If using a blender work in batches and blend until smooth. Return blended mixture to crock-pot.
With the smooth sauce in the crock-pot, place the cinnamon stick back in.
Leaving the lid off the crock-pot.
Cook on high for 4 more hours. Stirring every so often.
Remove cinnamon stick and discard it. Transfer the apple-pear butter into a sealed container, I used mason jars.
Let sit and cool on the counter before placing in the refrigerator or freezer.
The nutritional value may vary depending on the ingredients used.
For the pears, I used Bartlett pears but Anjou pears will work as well. For the apples, I used Gala but Mcintosh will work as well.
If you don't have a cinnamon stick you can replace it with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
Apple Pear Butter will last up to 3 weeks in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 3 months. Enjoy on pancakes, toast, pork or chicken.
