This classic cocktail recipe for an old fashioned is easy to make. Our method uses sugar, water, bitters, and your choice of whiskey or bourbon. With a twist of orange peel for a hint of citrus flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 Ounces Whiskey Or Bourbon
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Water
  • 3 Dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
  • 1 Orange Zest optional
  • 1 Large Ice cube for in glass
  • ¼ Cup Ice Cubes for mixing

Instructions

  1. In a mixing glass add the sugar, water, and bitters. Stir until sugar is nearly dissolved.

  2. Add the ¼ cup ice cubes and bourbon into the mixing glass with the dissolved sugar. Stir gently to combine and chill.

  3. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube.

  4. Express the oil of an orange peel over the glass. Garnish with the orange peel and enjoy.
