Mississippi Sin Dip Recipe

This ham and cheese Mississippi Dip is an easy appetizer recipe that is perfect for game days. Loaded with creamy cheesy goodness with bits of ham and spice all baked inside a French bread until ooey gooey.

Ingredients

  • 16 Ounces Sour Cream
  • 8 Ounces Cream Cheese softened
  • 2 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 4 Ounces Ham chopped
  • 2 Large Green Onions chopped
  • ½-1 Large Fresh Jalapeño chopped more jalapeno the spicer this dip
  • 1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Loaf French Bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉

  2. Prepare French bread by cutting the top off and hollowing it out. Reserve the chunks of bread that have been removed for dipping. Place the prepared bread on a sheet pan that has foil on it. The foil will be used to wrap the bread with so leave it loose on the sheet pan.

  3. Into a large mixing bowl combine together the sour cream and cream cheese until smooth.

  4. Stir in the cheddar cheese, chopped ham, green onions, jalapeño, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder until well combined.

  5. Spoon the sin dip mixture into the prepared French loaf. Wrap the foil around the bread.

  6. Place the baking sheet with the foil wrapped loaf of bread into the preheated 350-degree oven.

  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the dip is hot and bubbly. This time will vary depending on what you bake it in. If baking in a bread bowl the size of the bread will bowl will determine the baking time.

  8. Unwrap the foil from the top of the bread and allow to bake for 2-3 minutes longer to get a golden brown crust to the top of the dip. Or place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes on HI for a crisp topping.

  9. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving with chunks of bread.
