Tender chicken breasts are slow cooked in a rich chicken flavor gravy. This easy crockpot chicken recipe can be served over mashed potatoes for a complete weeknight meal.
Into the crockpot add the chicken broth or water (depending on what you use) Add in the cream of chicken soup and the dry chicken gravy mix.
Mix these ingredients together until well combined.
Place chicken breast into the crockpot with the gravy mixture. Season with black pepper and garlic powder.
Place the lid onto the crockpot, cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Before serving shred the chicken with two forks. Serve over mashed potatoes of white rice.
See notes for more information.
If using frozen chicken breast cook you may want to cook for the whole 6 hours. I used partly frozen chicken.
If gravy is too thin mix together 2 tablespoons of water and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Place lid on crockpot and cook for another 10 minutes or until gravy is to desired thickness.
Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, egg noodles, or bread.
The nutritional value may vary depending on the ingredients used.
