Homemade meatballs baked with sauce then piled onto a hoagie bun. Topped with provolone cheese and baked in the oven for the best meatball sub you will ever have.
Follow the steps to make my homemade meatball recipe by following the link that is in the notes.
Once the meatballs are made and cooked drain fat from the baking dish. Add your favorite pasta sauce over top of the meatballs. Place back into the 350℉ oven for 15 minutes.
While the meatballs and sauce are baking you can prep the sub buns. Spread the desired amount of butter on top of each sub bun and place on a cookie sheet.
Sprinkle each of the buns with garlic powder and parsley flakes.
When the meatballs and sauce are done cooking add 3 meatballs to each sub bun.
Place three thin slices of provolone cheese on top of each meatball prepared sub. Close the top of the sub buns onto the meatballs as much as you can.
Place into 350℉ oven on the lower rack for 10 minutes. Or until the cheese is completely melted. If you like crispy subs then you could leave in longer.
