Who doesn't love chocolate, how about chocolate pudding? Then you will love this chocolate pie? This pie is simple to make and is oh so good to eat.
What a busy week it has been for us, the kids went back to school on Tuesday. I'm not sure who was more sad about that them or me. I think I only cried for the first hour and then couldn't stop watching the clock to see if it was time to go pick them up yet. I couldn't wait to see them and hear about their first day back to school. Time is going way too fast with them.
I wanted to welcome them back home by making a dessert that they all would like. I knew chocolate pudding pie would be a hit with them.
Ready Crust and Pudding
I thought it would be fun if the kids could each have their own little pies. I found these mini ready crust at the grocery store. To make the chocolate filling I followed the directions on the box of the chocolate pudding mix.
Once the pudding was ready I filled the mini pies with the pudding. There was extra pudding so I filled little cups for the kids to have with their lunch the next day. I place the pies and extra cups of pudding in the refrigerator to set up.
Whipped topping makes it even better
Once the chocolate pudding was set up I topped it with whipped topping and sprinkled them with mini chocolate chips and a few chopped walnuts. I place these back in the refrigerator until it was dessert time.
You should have heard the kids when one by one they opened the refrigerator up and saw these mini pies. I have done this with a large size pie crust before and it was a huge hit with my family.
But I think these mini pies were a bigger hit, they all had their own personal pies.
From one chocolate lover to another enjoy~ Jenny
