Ingredients For Pumpkin Spice White Russian
Here are the simple ingredients that are needed to make this easy cocktail recipe. Along with any substitutions you can make to this fall inspired cocktail.
- Vodka is the base spirit of this seasonal cocktail recipe. Vanilla vodka would be a great option for regular vodka. To maintain the balance and flavor profile you could change the vodka for light or dark rum, brandy, or even bourbon. Any of these liqueurs will change the flavor profile of our original recipe.
- Kahlua is what gives this cocktail recipe the flavor that coffee lovers will enjoy. Not a coffee fan then you could use another cream base liqueur such as Baileys Irish cream.
- Pumpkin Liqueur adds that pumpkin spice twist to the recipe. My favorite brand to use is Fulton's Harvest, but you can use whichever you enjoy. You can also use pumpkin spice creamer in replacement of the liqueur. The pumpkin liqueur not only adds that pumpkin flavor to the cocktail but also a bit of sweetness and aromatic complexity.
- Heavy Cream just like in the classic version brings that sweet creaminess that balances well with all the liqueurs in this cocktail. Heavy whipping cream can be replaced with half and half, whole milk, or even coconut milk.
- Ice is what chills the cocktail, this is optional.
How To Make This Pumpkin Spice Cocktail
Making this autumn cocktail is as simple as the ingredients. Start by using a rocks glass or any cocktail glass. Add in the ice cubes to help chill the pumpkin cocktail down.
Over the top of the ice pour the vodka, Kahlua, and pumpkin liqueur. Then pour the heavy cream over the top of the 3 liqueurs, this gives a layering effect. You can then stir or leave the cocktail layered. A sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice on top of the cocktail with a cinnamon stick for a seasonal sensational adult drink.
If you don't want to serve this cocktail over rocks you could add the liquors in a cocktail shaker. Shake them together to help blend and chill then pour into a cocktail glass. Since our recipe uses heavy cream I do not recommend shaking the heavy cream in the shaker, I would still pour it over the top of the rest of the ingredients.
To take this pumpkin cocktail up a notch you could rim the edge of each glass with a coating of cinnamon sugar or pumpkin pie spice.
