If you have not yet happened to see my Pico De Gallo recipe you really should go check it out. I use this recipe for the base of my guacamole recipe. It adds so much color and flavor to the guacamole recipe.
What is Guacamole made from?
All you need to make guacamole is avocados and salt. Along with a splash of lime juice to help balance the richness of the avocado. That’s it, kind of sounds plain to me.
That’s why I decided to kick mine up a little by using my Pico De Gallo recipe and my secret ingredient.
But first, let’s talk about the goodness that avocados provide for us. Did you know that avocados provide about 25 percent of our daily recommended intake of vitamin K which helps support bone health?
They are also a good source of vitamins C, E, and B6 as well as magnesium and potassium. So if you’re like me and don’t care for banana’s you can get potassium from avocados.
They also are high omega-3 fatty acids. Which will help improve your cardiovascular health.

How Do You Make Guacamole with Pico De Gallo?
Go here to find my pico de gallo recipe. Once you have made that and the ingredients have had enough time to marry together. It’s time to make the guacamole.
Take three avocados and cut them in half, twist the avocado open and remove the pit. Okay, so this part might be a little intimidating.
With half of the avocado that has the pit in it, take it in one hand. Taking a large knife and sink the blade into the pit. Twisting the pit out of the fruit.
Please, be very careful when doing this.
But if this isn’t something your comfortable with doing, I also will use a spoon to scoop out the pit.
Using a larger spoon scoop out the fruit of the avocado from the outer shell, place in a large bowl. You can either use a fork or potato masher and mash the avocado up.
With the avocado mashed up go ahead and add the pico de gallo. I’ll add the whole amount from the Pico De Gallo recipe to my three mashed avocados.
My Secret Ingredient
This is the perfect time to introduce my secret ingredient. I love using garlic in many of my recipes. Why not use it in this recipe?
So you have two ways you can add garlic to this guacamole recipe, minced or use garlic salt.
Remember a couple of paragraphs back I said that all you need to make guacamole was avocados, salt, and lime juice? Well, I don’t use salt. Most of the time when I make this recipe I use garlic salt instead.
I’m very careful about how much I use since the Pico De Gallo already has a little bit of salt in it.
Sometimes I like to add both the minced garlic and garlic salt. Of course, you could also eliminate the salt that is in the Pico De Gallo since you are using the garlic salt in this guacamole recipe.
Whichever one you choose to use go ahead and use them now.
Since the pico de gallo has lime juice in it I don’t need to add it to the guacamole. Mix all the ingredients together.
Serve with your favorite tortilla chips or as a side for my Fabulous Wet Burrito recipe. Guacamole also goes great with tacos and fajitas.

Guacamole Recipe With Pico De Gallo
An easy avocado recipe that is made with fresh salsa.
- 3 Medium Avocados mashed
- 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Salt
- Pico De Gallo Recipe See notes for recipe
Cut the avocados in half and remove the seed.
Clean the fruit out of the skin with a spoon, add to a large bowl.
Mash the avocados until the desired amount of mashed. I like to have my guacamole with a few bigger chunks of the avocado in it. This is your preference.
Sprinkle the garlic salt over the mashed avocados and stir.
add the Pico De Gallo recipe mix all ingredients together and serve with tortilla chips.
