Homemade pizza rolls are simple to make for a quick lunch recipe that the kids will love. Made with only four ingredients makes this an easy recipe to make in little time.
With the kids home now I hear “what’s there to eat” even more often. And after a school year of cold lunch, it’s nice to be able to give them a hot homemade or at least semi-homemade lunch.
This is a perfect recipe for a quick and easy lunch. It’s also a great recipe to let the kids help with. My youngest enjoys helping to make this recipe with me.
How Do You Make Homemade Pizza Rolls?
You know I’m about quick and easy meals. These homemade pizza rolls are both quick and easy not to mention pretty yummy as well.
On the plus side, the kids will love them and ask for them often as mine do. I made these once when I was watching a friend’s kids.
She texted me the next day and asked how I made them because her kids were asking for them again.
This recipe is very much kid-approved.
Preheat the oven to 375℉. Now I’m all about ways to save on clean up. So I use foil to line my cookie sheets whenever possible.
I also love using silicone baking sheets whenever possible.
Of course, you don’t have to use foil but I would recommend spraying the cookie sheet with cooking spray so the crescent rolls don’t stick to the pan.
Using your favorite brand of refrigerated crescent rolls, roll them out into individual rolls. Place a little of the pizza sauce on the crescent roll, we used about a tablespoon.
Starting at the wider end of the crescent roll, add pepperoni slices. We find three slices to be enough, however, you could add more if you like.
Cut a mozzarella cheese stick in half and place it on top of pepperoni. Now roll the crescent rolls up by starting at the wider end of the crescent roll. Place rolls on the prepared cookie sheet.
How Long To Bake For
You could also brush the pizza rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with fresh parmesan cheese for over the top rolls.
My kids can be no thrills type of kids when it comes to their food so I left the pizza rolls plan.
In the preheated 375℉ oven bake the pizza roll-ups for 15 minutes or until crescents rolls are golden brown.
Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping or enjoy as they are. These are sure to be a hit with your kids as they are with mine.
