Two glasses that have fuzzy navel in it. There is a hand that is holding one of the glasses. with an orange that is cut up next to them on wax paper. With the words at the top of the image that say My Creative Manner's Fuzzy Navel Recipe.

This sweet ~fruity~ fuzzy navel cocktail is sure to become your go-to drink. Made with peach schnapps, vodka, and orange juice then severed over ice.

A perfect cocktail recipe for a warm summer's night or for a cold winter's day when you are dreaming of warmer days ahead.

This classic cocktail is simple to make and taste delicious. The sweetness from the peachtree mixed with orange juice calms the vodka down in my option.

I like to enjoy this cocktail in the summer months when I want a sweet adult drink.

What is a Fuzzy Navel Cocktail?

The only thing that is fuzzy about this cocktail is that it has peach schnapps in it. But if you have too many you might end up feeling a little fuzzy, so drink responsibly.

Dekuyper Peachtree Schnapps was released in the fall of 1984. I have read that a liquor distributor came up with the fuzzy navel cocktail.

But I have also read that a friend of an executive at national distillers that was a bartender came up with the fuzzy navel.

I'm not sure who really concocted this cocktail recipe but I sure would like to offer my thanks to them. This sweet and fruity cocktail is one of my top favorites.

I have also read that a traditional fuzzy navel is made with peach schnapps and orange juice.

Whereas a Hairy Navel is made with peach schnapps, vodka, and orange juice. I guess the hairy part comes from the strength of the alcohol.

Honestly, I never heard of a hairy navel until I was doing research for this article. So for this recipe, we will stick with calling it a fuzzy verse a hairy.

Ingredients That Are Needed

My all-time favorite cocktail recipe is a Bahama Mama. My Frozen Mudslide recipe in a close second to this classic fuzzy recipe.

You all know I'm about simple and easy recipes when I'm cooking or baking. I'm the same way when it comes to my cocktail recipes.

And this recipe is simple and easy to put together.

What you need to make this cocktail is:

  • peach schnapps
  • vodka~ any will do I used Absolut Vodka
  • orange juice~ no pulp is best
  • ice
  • shot glass or jigger
  • highball glass or a 12-ounce glass

That is it, no shaker or stir spoon needed.

Using a shot glass or a jigger pour 1 shot each of peach schnapps and vodka.

Add these both into a highball glass then top with orange juice. I'm not much for ice so I only add a few cubes, this can be your preference as to how much ice.

So if you like a lot of ice in your cocktails by all means load up on the ice. Just keep in mind that as the ice melts it will start to water the cocktail down.

If you are not a vodka kind of person, you can leave it out. I have had this cocktail many times without the vodka and it tastes great.

However, I do prefer it with vodka. But if we only have peach schnapps then I will use two shots of that instead of one.
