Black and white decor makes this fall tablescape elegant for the Thanksgiving Holiday. White pumpkins adorn the gingham table runner. While black plate chargers hold the table settings.
This fall tablescape is a simple creation that is sure to inspire your own tablescape creation.
If you saw my post last year for my Thanksgiving Table Decorations then you probably know that I had a hard time finding a table runner. Well, guess what the same thing happened again this year. Come along as I set our Thanksgiving table.
Thanksgiving Tablerunner
My main goal whenever I decorate the center of our table is to keep it protected from the decorations.
As the girls and I were out exploring new stores late this summer we discovered a cute little store that had a black and white table runner.
After careful examination of this runner, I decided that instead of paying the thirty dollars I would once again make my own.
I found the flannel fabric in black and white buffalo check and a plain black fabric that I could use to make my own table runner.
I wanted to make sure that it would be kind of like a placemat interfacing material so I needed some interfacing to put between the fabrics.
Before I sewed the materials together I folded over about ¼ of an inch of each the buffalo check and the black fabric and then ironed it.
I then placed the interfacing on top of the wrong side of the black fabric. Next, I place the buffalo check with the right side of the material facing up.
Time to sew, I made two passes around the whole table runner to make sure that it was secure. The table runner is straight so this was easy to sew.
My table runner ended up being 42 inches long by 12 inches wide. Perfect size for the middle of my table.
That is one of the perks of making your own table runner, you get to decide the length and width you want.
Fall Decorations
Filling the table runner with what I thought was black and white fall decor was rather fun.
I found a black and white glass ball along with the black candles and the white pumpkin in the center at the At Home store.
If you haven't shopped there I highly recommend doing so, they have some really cute home decor.
Even though the black and white glass balls don't really say fall I thought they would be a nice contrast to the table.
Plus I know I can use them for other decorations, stay tuned for what I have in mind for Christmas.
The candle holder that the black glass ball is on I found a set of two at our local Goodwill store.
They were a bronze color so I grab black spray paint and upscaled them.
The black jars with wood lids are also candles that I found at Marshalls.
Tucks of green leaves around the decor and the foam white pumpkins I felt adding to the fall feel.
Beautiful Black And White Fall Tablescape Place Settings
I have a little confession you all about the place settings. At first, I didn't want black bowls I wanted small black plates.
However, I had the hardest time finding the black plates. It drives me mad when I have in my mind what I want then I can't find it.
I looked at 7 stores and finally, I found these bowls at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was my lucky day they were on sale for 50% off.
The chargers and black and white check napkins I bought at Hobby Lobby. The white plates are our everyday plates.
Like I said I was in multiple stores looking for the black plates. While I was in Kirkland's I found these cute white pumpkins that are sitting in the bowls.
Since my table can fit 6 people I thought I would grab six of these pumpkins.
However, they only have three sayings; blessed, thankful, and grateful. Looking at our table you wouldn't know that there were only six unless you went to each place setting.
I placed the blessed at each end of the table. Then on each of the sides, I placed thankful and grateful.
The black and white check ribbon goes perfectly with the buffalo check table runner and with the napkins.
I love the little metal left, I felt that added to the farmhouse charm that I love so much.
Happy Thanksgiving
There you have it my beautiful black and white fall tablescape, that will work all the way through Thanksgiving.
