Christmas Home Tour 2018

Rustic Christmas Tree with a large bow on top of the tree.

Welcome to our Christmas Home Tour 2018. I’m so happy you’re here to see my home decorated for the 2018 Christmas Season. I can't wait to show you all what I did this year.

You might like what I did to my front porch this year to make it into Farmhouse Christmas Porch. Or you may want to see my Wooden Coke Crate and Christmas Decorations on a Budget.

For the most part this year I kept some things the same but with a little bit of a twist. Come on inside of my home as I tour you around our foyer, living room and kitchen.

Chrsitmas Home Tour Starts In The Foyer

Rustic Christmas Tree with a large bow on top of the tree.

Since I love to decorate for Christmas I am always trying to find new ways to either change my decorations or add to them in some way.

This year I added this little tree to our foyer that I picked up at Menard's. The tree wasn't flocked when I bought it so I flocked it with that canned snow.

I'm thinking next year I will have to try something different, the "snow" comes off when touched.

I have always liked the idea of bows on a Christmas tree and have always wanted to do one as a topper. I made this one myself using three types of ribbon, I love the long tails and having them curled.

A Christmas tree that is decorated in an rustic Christmas feel.

My Wooden Christmas Coke Crate is what sets the theme to our foyer, so this tree is an all rustic Christmas theme.

I found a lot of my ornaments at our local all in one shop store or at Hobby Lobby.  My favorite ornaments are the glass bulbs with the red truck on them and the Santa's pants.

Oh and I love that red and cream garland, I found that at the end of last season at Hobby Lobby.

Wood Letters and mini wreath that spell out Noel.

You may have seen this Noel sign before, I blogged about it in Christmas Decorations on a Budget. This is as you enter our foyer.

The candle on the table and ladder that is in the corner are normally in the foyer. To change things up a bit I added a bow to the candle and to the ladder I added the lantern that is normally in our living room along with some Christmas picks from Hobby Lobby.

Christmas Living Room Decorating Ideas

Christmas tree that has white and blue decorations.

I wanted to make a slight change to our tree this year. Being that our family is Catholic, I wanted to represent Mary in my tree somehow.

I found this beautiful blue ribbon that I made into bows and the blue glass ornaments add the perfect touch to our tree.

We also decided to change the location of our tree. The only problem with doing this is it took away from some of my village space.

While everyone was out black Friday shopping I was home setting up our tree and the village, it only took me 6.5 hours to do so. The next few days were dedicated to setting up the rest of the house.

 Christmas Kitchen Decor

Christmas Cookie Jars on top of cupboards.

For our kitchen and dining room, I kept the decorations simple. Last spring we had the kitchen painted a grey color, I have been using red as an accent color to decorate.

Really like the red as an accent color, I thought I would do this for Christmas as well.

One of my favorite things about my kitchen is that I can decorate the tops of my cupboards. Christmas lights added to the garland gives a nice glow to the kitchen at night.

The garland and lights have been a must to the cupboards even at the old house.

Christmas Cookie Jars with green garland and red ornaments around it.

The tops of the cupboards give me the perfect place to display my cookie jars.

Along with the garland and lights I placed three red bulbs at the tops of the cupboards. My Elf (daughter) put together each of the bulb sets on a pipe cleaner.

This helped to hold them together and also to tie them to the garland so they stay in place. Under the garland, I used scraps of wood to keep it in place.

Santa Claus Cookie Jar sitting on top of a cupboard with green garland around it.

This year I did scale back on my cookie jar display but this Santa had to stay.

Christmas Dining Room

Not wanting to go overboard in the dining room, I keep the decoration simple.

Christmas Lantern with bows and flowers.

I made the swag that is on top of this lantern that is on top of my corner cabinet. The red ribbon ties into the red that is in the kitchen.

I thought this red truck ribbon was so cute so I used that for the bow on the lantern. As well as in the centerpiece and on the tree in the foyer.

Table with red placemats and a center piece that is made with white mesh and red ribbon. Candle sticks are in the middle of the center piece.

I wanted to keep the table centerpiece simple as well. So I created a white mesh garland that has three types of ribbons in it.

Adding a couple of candlesticks nestled into the mesh adds a nice charm to the centerpiece.
