Did you know that you can make decadent brownies using only three ingredients? Using your favorite boxed brownie mix, a can of cherry pie filling, and oil is all that's needed to make these moist cake like brownies. Plus this easy brownie recipe is egg free.
With the rising cost of eggs these days I'm always looking for ways to cut that costs when it comes to recipes. And this 3 ingredient cherry brownies recipe is a great way to do that and still get a delicious dessert.

The other night I was craving something chocolatey, unfortunately, we had no candy in the house. So after looking through the pantry I discovered the three ingredients that it takes to make these chocolate cherry brownies.
This was the perfect dessert to satisfy that sweet tooth. It only took a few minutes to mix up the brownie batter and then about an hour to bake these delicious fudgy brownies. The cherry filling really added flavor to the brownies.
Fudgy Brownies With Juicy Cherries
How can you go wrong with chocolate brownies loaded with cherry flavor? These chocolate cherry brownies are easy to make in a matter of minutes. They bake up moist and the texture of the brownie is like eating a piece of cake.
I have made these brownies using Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker brownie mixes as well as a Ghirardelli brownie mix. My favorite was the Ghiradelli dark chocolate brownie mix. The rich chocolate flavor paired with the juicy cherry flavor was amazing.
How To Make
These fudge brownies with juicy cherries were simple to make and only took a few minutes of prep time. Before any baking, my first step is always to heat the oven so my baked goods will cook evenly.
Add the brownie mix, can of cherry pie filling, and oil into a large bowl. Mix the three ingredients together making sure to get any ingredients that are on the sides of the bowl. I used a rubber spatula to mix these together, you could use a hand mixer if you like.

Once the brownie batter is mixed together add it to a baking pan. That is either coated with nonstick cooking spray or lined with parchment paper. The size of the baking dish will determine a couple of things. How thick the brownies bake up to be and how long it will take them to bake.
I used an 8x8 baking dish and it did take my oven a while to get these fully baked. But these chocolate cherry brownies were so worth the wait. Bake the brownie in a preheated 350 degree oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Since every oven bakes differently I would say to check them periodically. The baking time may also vary depending on the brownie mix used. You can use the back of the brownie box as a gauge as to how long you will need to bake them.

Once the cherry brownies came out of the oven I placed them on a wire rack and allowed them to cool completely. Sitting the brownies on a wire rack will allow airflow under the hot baking dish. This will help with the cool down process. When the brownies were completely cooled I cut them into 9 squares.
Serve these brownies as they are or make a into a brownie sundae. Add a scoop or two of ice cream that is drizzled with chocolate sauce. That is then topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.

Hello,
Great and simple recipe, thank you.
I would add that if people want a Chewy brownie, remove a few minutes from baking. The toothpick should have a few crumbles on it, but not be wet. If if comes out clean, it will be more cake-like.
Have a nice day.

Happy that you enjoyed this recipe.

Mine failed, not sure what I did wrong!? Brownies never completely baked, came out almost raw and couldn't be eaten. I'm sad.
Jennifer
I'm sorry these did not work out for you. I always preheat my oven because if not this will affect the baking time. When baking sometimes ovens bake differently, these could have needed a few more minutes in your oven for them to fully bake.

Mine were raw
Jennifer
Sorry to hear this, all ovens do bake differently. Increase the baking time can help to achieve the desired doneness.
