This delicious pie is sure to become your favorite pie recipe. From the layer of crunchy chocolate crust to the creamy fluffy marshmallow layer. That goes all the way to the rich creamy chocolate mousse filling layer. That is then topped with dollops of whipped cream and pieces of chocolate bars. You really can't go wrong with all these luscious layers of chocolate in this amazing no bake Hershey's chocolate pie.

Ingredients Needed For Hershey Pie

6 simple ingredients are all it takes to make this rich decadent dessert recipe. This homemade chocolate pie recipe is easier to make than waiting in the drive-through line at Burger King.

All the ingredients need to make this Hershey chocolate mouse pie.

For the pie crust, we do cheat a bit when it comes to the crust for this delicious pie. We used a pre-made chocolate graham cracker crust but you could use a homemade pie crust. Or even an oreo cookie pie crust in replacement for the chocolate one we used.

The ingredients used for the cream cheese layer are.

  • cream cheese which helps to hold this pie together while giving it a bit of a cheesecake flavor.
  • marshmallow fluff helps to make the cream cheese layer light and fluffy.
  • powdered sugar helps to sweeten and cut the tang from the cream cheese.

This wouldn't be a chocolate Hershey pie recipe without the creamy chocolate layer.

  • Hershey's chocolate bars, it takes 6 large bars to give this pie it's rich chocolate flavor.
  • cool whip is mixed together with the melted chocolate bars to create a rich chocolate whipped topping layer. And is also used as either dollops or as a full final layer to the top of this decadent pie. Replace the store bought whipped topping by making your own with heavy whipping cream.

How To Make

For the cream cheese mixture, I like to start by whipping the softened cream cheese up in a medium mixing bowl. Once the room temperature cream cheese is light and fluffy add the marshmallow fluff and powdered sugar in. Mix with a hand mixer until all the ingredients are incorporated.

Remove the dome cover from the pie crust and pour the creamy filling into the pre-made graham cracker crust. In a microwave-safe bowl add the 6 full-size chocolate bars. I find they will melt easier if broken into pieces.

Melt the chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds intervals, my microwave took 60 seconds. Doing the 30 second increments helps to insure the chocolate doesn't burn. If the Hershey bar pieces are not fully melted but are very soft, stir the softened chocolate with a spoon. This will help to get the milk chocolate bars smooth and fully melted.

With the chocolate melted fold in the 8 ounces of cool whip, reserve the remaining cool whip for after this no bake Hershey pie sits up. I did allow the melted chocolate to cool some before adding the cool whip in. Pour the chocolate mousse layer on top of the cream cheese layer.

Finishing Touches

The Hershey pie will need to chill in the refrigerator to set up for 2-3 hours. I left mine in there for 3 hours.

Once the no bake pie has set up add the remaining 8 ounces of whipped topping to the top of the chocolate cream layer. For the top of the pie, you can get fancy by putting the cool whip in a piping bag with a piping tip to make decorative dollops. Or you can spread the reaming cool whip on for a third layer to the pie. Garnish the top of the cool whip with snack size Hershey bars, mini chocolate chips, or use a cheese grater to make chocolate shavings.
