This Christmas Coke Crate is decorated with mini Christmas decorations. All the decorations are budget-friendly items. This is a simple DIY project that can be done to add to your Christmas decorations.
Have you ever had something that you wanted but you had a hard time finding just what you wanted? This Coke crate was that for me. I had been hunting for the perfect one for a while and this past summer I found the one I was looking for.
The happy three and I went to a flea market, and I came across this crate. After a little negotiation with the price, we were able to take it home. I have to admit I wasn't sure where I was going to put this Coke crate at in our house. So it sat in my bedroom for the last 6 months.

Christmas Coke Crate Decorating
I love decorating for Christmas and have been doing a lot of thinking about how I will decorate the house this year.
As I was looking around the house for things I could use for one of the themes, I found the Coke crate sitting in my closet. I knew just what I wanted to do with it.
Since it's an antique I thought it would be a great idea to have the Christmas decor rustic looking. The red truck with a tree that has been a big hit the last couple of years was my inspiration.
Finding small enough objects to fit in the small squares was a bit hard. Target has some great things in their dollar spot, that's where I found the ski's, tree, and Noel signs. If I'm not mistaking Target is also where I found that cute nesting boxes. I just used the box in one place and then the lid in another.
How To Decorate A Cooke Crate For Christmas
For me, the fun part was putting it all together. Knowing that the bird and skies didn't fit inside the square, I found mounting putty that I had and stuck some to the backs of these pieces to help hold them in place. Isn't that bird just the cutest?

The Noel and little antlers were mini ornaments that I cut the strings off of. I needed something to prop them up and to fill a couple of other places in the crate. I went looking around the house to see what I had.
Finding a white candle votive, scrabble tiles, a cotton stem, 2 larger antlers, gingham fabric, and a checkerboard ribbon I was ready to finish putting it together.
The pine cone, the mistletoe leaves, the snowy pine leaves, and the bundle of wood were all one piece, that I cut up. I bought it because of the wood bundle but then quickly realized how cute the rest was in my Coke crate.
Finishing Touches
All the craft stores have some really cute floral bundles. I cut a piece of the gingham fabric and crumbled it a little then placed it into the square to prop up the mini antlers. The candles looked really nice with the mini Noel, so much that I had to put all three in the crate.
The scrabble tiles were a little bit more of a challenge to get in just right, thankfully I was only spelling Merry out. I cut the cotton off of the stem and stuffed the cotton in the square. I added pieces of the ribbon behind the nesting boxes.
The cute larger antlers on top of the Coke Crate are also from the floral section at the craft store. I had bought them for another project that I didn't end up using them for.
After placing the antlers on the top of the crate I felt that it still needed a little something more. A bow would be the perfect touch to help tie it all together.
Merry decorating
I enjoyed decorating this crate with which I'm very pleased with how it turned out. The Coke crate has found its place in our home, I'll be able to enjoy decorating it for other seasons.
