Cherry Fluff Salad is an easy dessert recipe that is made with 7 simple ingredients. Thawed cool whip, sweetened condensed milk, cherry pie filling, crushed pineapples, mini marshmallows, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans are mixed together to create this fluff salad. Cherry fluff is an easy dump and go recipe that only needs one hour of chill time to thicken.

Like our strawberry jello fruit salad and pistachio fluff fruit salad. This simple dessert is great to bring along for Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Sunday dinners with the family.

This cherry fluff salad has become one of our family's favorite quick dessert recipes. I enjoy how quick and easy this recipe is to make. And all I really have to do is dump all the ingredients into a bowl. What's not to love about easy desserts and easy clean-ups.

How To Make

Cherry fluff salad is easy to make, all you have to do is dump all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and combine. Even though this fluff salad is a dump and go type of recipe it does need some chilling time to set up and thicken. After an hour of chilling in the refrigerator, this dessert salad is ready to be enjoyed.

I have some tips that I'll be sharing to help make this creamy pink fluff more to your own liking. This delicious dessert salad is sure to be a crowd pleaser in your home. I know every time I make this salad everyone really enjoys it, I mean what's not to love about a cool whip dessert.

This recipe is great for feeding a crowd because it can be made up ahead of time. Which makes it great for holiday gatherings or even potlucks. I enjoy serving this cherry fluff salad at Easter. There is something about having it with ham that makes it even better.

Ingredients Needed

This cherry fluff salad only uses 7 simple ingredients that are most likely in your pantry right now, oh, and your freezer. Since this recipe is pretty easy to make I only have a few tips to share with you.

The first is to start out with thawed cool whip, which will help make mixing all the other ingredients together easier. In a large mixing bowl, I like to mix the sweetened condensed milk into the thawed cool whip.

Sweetened condensed milk is thick and it will settle to the bottom of the mixing bowl. Mixing the condensed milk and cool whip together will help ensure that all the milk gets incorporated into the cool whip completely.

The ingredients to make the fluff salad.

The cherry pie filling is what gives this fluff salad its pretty pink color. For the crushed pineapple I find it's best to drain as much of the juice off as possible. Into a fine mesh strainer, I will press the crushed pineapple to make sure the extra juices are drained off.

Not a fan of pecans, you can always substitute them for walnuts or leave them out. In the end, there is a bit of nutty flavor coming from the shredded coconut. The shredded coconut helps to bring in a nutty tropical flavor. If you don't like or are allergic to coconut you can leave it out.

Tips

One of the first tips I have is to start with thawed cool whip. The next would be to whisk the cool whip and sweetened condensed milk together first before adding in the other ingredients. Whisking the cool whip and sweetened condensed milk together first will help to ensure that all the milk is incorporated.

I do recommend removing as much of the juice from the crushed pineapple as possible. The extra juices from the crushed pineapple will cause the salad to separate. I like to use a fine mesh strainer, this helps remove most of the juices.

If you are looking to cut back on the sweetness of this recipe then you could use unsweetened crushed pineapple and unsweetened shredded coconut.

If you would like more mini marshmallows you could always add more. We found that 1 cup was plenty for our liking. You could also use colorful mini marshmallows instead of the plain white ones.

The best way to store this pink fluff salad is to place it into an air-tight container or cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

This classic cherry fluff salad is simple to make and is sure to be a hit with your family. Here are some more easy fluffy recipes that may also be a hit.
