I love making applesauce in the Instant Pot not only because it's so easy but it also makes a really delicious sauce. The pressure cooker speeds up the cooking process, which means homemade applesauce in less time.

Plus, using fresh apples during the harvest season means you can get the best flavor and texture possible. This recipe is sure to become a fall favorite that can be enjoyed all year thanks to the Instant Pot.

For the best results, you could use a variety of apples such as Granny Smith, Fujis, Golden Delicious, or Honeycrisp.

With just a few simple ingredients and the ease of the Instant Pot, you will have a delicious side dish or natural sweet treat to enjoy.

How To Make

Let's grab our ingredients and get started on making this easy recipe. I used granny Smith apples that I peeled and cored, then cut into chunks. The best apples to use in this recipe are your favorite in my opinion. Use a combination of tart and sweet apples.

The ingredients on a board that is needed to make applesauce in the Instant Pot.

Add those apple chunks into the inner pot along with ¾ cup of water. The water can be replaced with apple juice or apple cider if you like. Add in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

You can replace the brown sugar with white sugar. The brown sugar adds a caramel like flavor while the white sugar will simply sweetens the sauce. Want a no added sugar applesauce simply leave out the sugar.

In our recipe card, we do call for ground cinnamon but it could be replaced with cinnamon sticks.

Give all ingredients a good stir then place the lid onto the Instant Pot. Press the pressure cook button to high pressure, and adjust the cook time to 5 minutes. Once the cooking time is done do a natural release for 10 minutes.

Once the cooking time is up use a potato masher or immersion blender to blend the applesauce to the smoothness you desire. Or you can skip this step and serve it on the chunker side, either way, this Instant Pot applesauce is delicious.
